TIP SHOP ART COMPETITION

Brisbane City Council's 2013 Tip Shop art competition is underway. 
It is now time for you to vote for your favourite artwork. 
Brisbane Square Library is showcasing the 18 artworks made from recycled items from Brisbane's Tip Shops.

The competition has been developed to raise awareness of Brisbane Tip Shops and encourage visitors to explore options for reuse and recycling of second hand items to keep unwanted furniture and household items out of landfill.

Council believes artists are integral to helping the public rethink their rubbish and views the competition as a way to inspire artists to see creative possibilities in items that previously would have been thrown away.

The winner will be determined by popular vote and one prize of $1000 will be awarded to the artist who creates the winning artwork.


"Eloise" is the piece that has been selected for the competition.
